Andreas Brantelid
Cello
37-year old Andreas has won several prestigious competitions, and plays with leading orchestras and conductors. In addition, pianist Bengt Forsberg (who was here in 2012, 2019, and 2022) and violinist Nils-Erik Sparf inspired him to play chamber music with them more than 20 years ago, a format that he has also cultivated with musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Gidon Kremer, and Joshua Bell. The most recent additions to his considerable discography include video recordings of Piatti’s 12 Caprices, available on Youtube and Apple Music. Since 2022 Andreas has been teaching as a visiting professor at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He plays the «Boni-Hagar» Stradivari from 1707, and is artistic co-director of our festival since 2018.
